In the ALE Application, if more than one State or SIS course code is assigned to a single course, there is a utility that will allow you to define exactly which course code should be used for which student grade level. For example, if a single Piano course is available for students in grades 4-7 and both WA0007, 05136, and 05137 are used, this utility will let you assign grade 4 to WA0007, grade 5 to 05136, and grade 7 to 05137.

This association determines which course code to use for a student when courses are added directly to a student's learning plan based on the student’s wSLP grade level through the Add Course process, or when subject/course records are created as a result of enrollment in a class.

This task can be completed in the Data Administrator Role.

Note: These associations cannot be retroactively applied to existing Student Learning Plans; once established, they will be utilized for any courses added to plans in the future.

Managing the Associations

  1. Start under Manage ALE Data in the left navigation menu and choose ALE Course Associations.

  1. Click the Row Action Gear and choose Edit.
    1. The ALE Course and Grade Level will be automatically filled.
    2. Click the magnifying glass in the State Course Code field and select the checkbox next to the code you want to use for the grade level.
    3. Select the SIS Course Code similarly.
