Here is an overview of the features and options available within Homeroom Dashboards for analyzing assessment data through charts, assessment sets, subgroup comparisons, and risk indicators.

Key Functionalities

  • Charts provide detailed data insights, interactive features like clickable elements, and options for creating static groups.
  • Assessment Sets offer various ways to analyze assessment data with customizable settings and views.

Chart Features

  1. Hover over any bar or column to reveal included details.
  2. Below the chart, click any identifier to hide the bar or column from the chart to narrow viewing results.

  1. Click the bar or column to display a list of students contributing to the data points.
    • Connect: Customize the Chart Data Settings: Horizontal (Bars), Vertical (Columns), and Show Data Labels.
  2. Click the student photo/magnifying glass to open the student spotlight for more student details.
  3. Select students from the student list to create a static group for further analysis. Helpful Resource: Create and Manage a Static Student Group

Create a Student Group

  1. Click one or more checkboxes to the far left or the top checkbox to select all. Click the Selected Gear in the top left corner and choose Add Students to Student Group.
  2. Enter a name in the Create a Name Group field and click Create. Alternatively, select a previously created static group from the dropdown menu and click Add To.

Using Assessment Chart/Data Table Options Connect

  • Data Settings: Click the Edit Page Settings for the dashboard you are currently viewing.  You can change the available filters to change your Default Dashboard Data Settings: School Year (Student Enrollment), School Years (Student Data), Schools, Student Filters, and Student Groups.   • Download: Click the Download Chart icon in the top right to download the chart image.
  • Display Options: Click the Show Column Panel to hide, show, or arrange the various columns.
  1. Navigate to the Assessment container by selecting it from the Assessment tab dropdown menu.
  2. To view aggregated data, select a tab screen view at the top of the container. Hover over the tab to view the full title. 

Left Navigation - Assessment Tests

All Assessment Tests: This will allow you to search assessments by name, type, category, and school year score counts.

  • View as KPI: Screen views for District-Wide, by Schools, Federal Races,  Genders, 504, Bilingual, Free/Reduced, Gifted, LAP, Special Education, Title, and Homeless.
  • Progress Monitoring
  • Item Analysis
  • Strands
  • Subgroup Comparisons are available in many single assessment views. They allow users to disaggregate an assessment by various subgroups (e.g., race/ethnicity, program, gender). 

Subgroup Comparisons (Connect)

  1. Start under Assessment Tests in the left navigation menu and choose All Assessment Tests.
  2. Use the column filters to sort and search for an assessment.
  3. From the Subgroup column, click the magnifying glass.

  1. Use the Edit Page Data Settings next to the title to filter student data.
  2. Click the Subgroup Comparison tab at the top of the page and select from the dropdown menu. (by race, gender, service type, school and teacher, grade level, or age).

Assessment Sets: This feature allows you to search for assessment sets by name, subject area, number of assessments, number of scored assessments, and whether they are shared district-wide.

Student Growth: This will allow you to view student growth for assessments.
