This document aims to help users locate all the features and items in Homeroom Connect Dashboards that they were familiar with in version 2. Remember, you can always return to your current version.
NOTE: If your district has created custom dashboards, not all these containers may be present. Please contact your customer support representative at support@schooldata.net.

When clicking to view content, popover Windows will display. In the top right, click the “X” to close the window and return to where you left off, or click the “Open in new window” icon to open in a new tab.
Application Navigation
Click the Site Navigation button next to the SchoolData.net logo in the upper left. In the new modal, click the application bundle, select the application, select the user role, and then click Launch to be taken to your Home—Getting Started page. Helpful Resources: Application Navigation
User Settings and Options Menu
(My Account, Account Settings, Screen Settings, Impersonation, and Demonstration)
Under Homeroom Dashboards or any other application you may be using, click User Settings (Avatar/Name) at the top right to view Application Actions and Options or Logout. Click "Manage My Account" to update your avatar, change your password, and select Zoom and high-contrast features.
Help Desk / Self-Directed Learning
- Click the life preserver icon to the left of your name, then select Visit our Help Center, Request Help, and View My Requests just as you would in V2.
- Click the Self-Directed Learning logo in the bottom left corner, select the Application/Role, and then click Task to view the task instructions.
Dashboard Selection
- Start under Dashboards in the left navigation menu and choose All Dashboards.
- Select the dashboard you want to set as your default and click the empty circle in the Is Default column. You can also select a favorite dashboard by clicking the Heart icon under the Is Favorited column.
- Locate and open your default dashboard at any time by navigating to My Default Dashboard in the left navigation menu.
- Locate and open your favorite dashboards at any time by navigating to Dashboards and then selecting My Favorite Dashboards.
- You can change your dashboard selection at any time by clicking "Switch" next to the dashboard title.
Dashboard Role Selection
Select your role from the dropdown menu in the left navigation. Helpful Resource: Roles and Permissions
Change Dashboard Data Settings/Student Group
- Click Edit Page Data Settings next to the dashboard title.
- A popover modal will display page settings for the dashboard you are currently viewing.
- Numerous filters are available: school year (student enrollment), school years (student data), schools, students, and student groups. In the top right corner, you can easily view the data parameters you have set (Student Count, Data Date, Enrolment Date).
Sub-Page Navigation = Tab Menu
A Tab menu is now at the top of most subpages for easy navigation. Click on the name from the dropdown menu to jump to that container.
Container Tools / Chart Actions & Options
- Expand/Collapse containers at the top right of the container. The dashboard changes will be retained until cleared.
- The top right containers contain additional icons for Data Table Actions and Options (hiding and showing columns in the data table), downloading, and saving.

Lookup/Search
- Use the Profile Lookup container on the Homeroom Dashboards to search.
- Select Schools, Students, and Student Groups from the left navigation menu. Some selections have multiple subcategories to further filter the options.

Create Student Group
Select Student Groups from the left navigation menu, then choose Create/Manage Student Group. Helpful Resource: Student Groups
Launch Assessments / User-Defined Assessments
Start under Assessment Tests in the left navigation menu and choose All Assessment Tests or Assessment Sets.
To create and/or edit your own Assessment Sets, choose My Assessments Sets in the Left Navigation Menu under My Creations.
