Welcome to the SchoolData Online Community! This space is designed to foster collaboration, learning, and professional growth among K-12 educators and administrators, encompassing discussions related to our solutions, challenges faced, best practices, and innovative ideas. 

 

To ensure a respectful, productive, and secure environment for all members, adherence to the following Code of Conduct is required.

 

Be Respectful and Professional

  • Treat all members with courtesy, kindness, and respect.
  • Presume positive intent and engage thoughtfully, even when expressing disagreement.
  • Avoid personal attacks, sarcasm, or comments that may be perceived as demeaning or disparaging.

 

Maintain Student and Staff Privacy

  • Do not share any personally identifiable information (PII) regarding students, staff, or families in posts, comments, screenshots, or shared materials.
  • Comply with FERPA, COPPA, HIPAA, and all other applicable federal, state, and local data privacy regulations when referencing examples or experiences.
  • Impersonation and misrepresentation are prohibited.

 

Stay On Topic

  • Search before posting.
  • Post in the right place.
  • Keep discussions relevant to the community’s purpose: supporting the effective use of SchoolData.net applications, data-informed practices, addressing technical questions/discussions, sharing innovative ideas, and promoting educational leadership.
  • To initiate a new topic, submit a suggestion post, or provide product feedback (e.g., suggest a feature, report a problem), please contact support@schooldata.net for review and consideration. 


Contribute Constructively

  • Share ideas, strategies, and feedback that build collective knowledge.
  • Disclosure of an organization's name and position in posts and profile names is crucial for maintaining transparency and trust within our community.
  • Be clear, concise, and provide context. 
    • Identify the problem.
    • Provide context.
    • Suggest a solution
    • Highlight the benefits
  • Engage with and acknowledge help. Mark the answers that have helped you and engage with those responding to your questions. (e.g., voting, upvoting)
  • When offering suggestions or critiques, frame them in a manner that supports learning and improvement.

 

Uphold a Safe and Inclusive Environment

  • Do not post discriminatory, harassing, or offensive content based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Respect differing perspectives and experiences, fostering inclusivity for all members.

 

 Protect Intellectual Property

  • Adherence to intellectual property and copyright laws. Only share resources, materials, or data for which you possess the requisite rights. 
  • Cite sources when sharing research, frameworks, or materials created by others.
  • AI can be beneficial when used appropriately as a productivity tool, but it requires human oversight and guidance. The core of your contributions should be written by you. Ensure the information you provide is accurate.

 

Follow Platform Guidelines

  • Comply with the technical and usage guidelines established for this community platform.
  • Avoid spamming, excessive posting, or misuse of features that disrupt the experience for others.

 

Report Concerns

If you observe behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the community moderators or the SchoolData.net support team at support@schooldata.net. Concerns will be addressed promptly to maintain a positive community environment.

 

Violations

SchoolData.net reserves the right to remove posts or comments that violate this Code of Conduct and to suspend or remove users who engage in repeated or severe violations.
