Introduction

The following document will highlight the various improvements we have made to our application Alternative Learning Experience (ALE), located in our application bundle “Alternative Learning”.

Overview

Changes include:

Featured Highlights

Updates to the “Attendance Taking Was Completed” button

Logic has been added so that if a user clicks the “Attendance Taking Was Completed” button, but a designation has not been made for each student, attendance cannot be finalized.  A warning message will display indicating this and directing the user to make a designation for each student before continuing.

Add features and logic so that access for users can be limited to the subdomain they are associated to

For districts with multiple programs utilizing our application, several features have been added that allow programs to associate users to one or more subdomains, which then limits access to the assigned subdomain. This requires two steps for which a help document will be available soon:

  • Assign each user to the desired ALE Program via the “Manage ALE Users” table with selected rows action
  • Turn on the application setting to enforce the user-subdomain association
