We are excited to announce that SchoolData has integrated advanced AI capabilities directly into our platform to help educators turn complex information into actionable student insights. With this technology, we can save district administrators hundreds of hours a quarter while increasing accuracy.

Launch Date: January 28, 2026.

Key Points

  • Productivity: Reclaim time by automating the narrative summaries of complex district data.
  • Equity: Level the playing field. You don’t need to be a data scientist to lead a data-driven meeting.
  • Action: Shift the focus from interpreting charts to acting on the data and improving student outcomes.

Product Spotlight: What’s New

The update introduces two primary AI-driven capabilities integrated directly into the Homeroom Connect ecosystem:

  1. Summarize: A "Narrative Summary" tool that distills complex charts into plain-English narratives.
  1. AI Enhanced Text: A "polish" tool available in large text fields—such as those found in Evaluations to assist Evaluators and Evaluatees in drafting more descriptive, nuanced, and impactful evaluation narratives throughout the evaluation cycle.

FAQs

Q: What is the Insight Tag (AI), and how does it help educators?

A: The Insight Tag is a tool that instantly converts complex data visualizations into plain-English summaries. It helps educators by automating chart interpretation, saving time, and making data accessible to everyone.

Q:  What specific types of data (attendance, assessments, etc.) does the AI analyze?

A: The AI analyzes the data sets already present in your charts, including attendance trends and student growth metrics. It distills whatever information is currently displayed in your Connect data containers.

Q: Is any student-level data (PII) ever passed to external AI models?

A: No, SchoolData.net ensures that personally identifiable information (PII) is scrubbed or localized before processing. Your student-level data remains secure within our ecosystem and is never shared with external model providers.

Q: Will our district’s data be used to train or improve future versions of the AI?

A: Absolutely not. Your district’s specific data is used only to generate your insights and is never used to train or improve general AI models.

Q: Which SchoolData.net applications currently include these features?

A: These AI capabilities are currently integrated into the Connect ecosystem, which powers data visualizations across the Homeroom, Early Warning Module, ALE, Evaluations, and CTE modules. Additionally, the Evaluations application includes an "Enhance/Polish" tool in the Observation notepad, allowing evaluators to refine their notes.

Q: Is there a cost for these new capabilities, or are they included in our current subscription?

A: The Insight Tag and core AI features are included in your current subscription as part of our commitment to keeping SchoolData.net at the cutting edge.

Q: What is the roadmap for future AI releases beyond the January launch?

A: Following this launch, we will continue to expand AI capabilities across the ecosystem to further streamline administrative tasks and deepen insights. Our roadmap focuses on iterative enhancements that move teams more quickly from data analysis to high-impact instructional action.
