Washington State/TPEP Supporting Documentation on Comprehensive Vs. Focus
| CEL | Comprehensive | Focused |
| Danielson | Comprehensive | Focused |
| Marzano | Comprehensive | Focused |
| AWSP Leadership Framework | Comprehensive | Focused |
Comprehensive suggestions are hard-coded based on WA State logic*
- First suggestions are made for the Preliminary Summative and Student Growth Impact.
- Second, when selections are made, a Final Summative Rating is suggested. If needed, the corresponding Require Student Growth Inquiry and Require Plan of Improvement are suggested.
Marking Focus Criterion
Any criteria can be marked as focused by either the Evaluator or the Evaluatee. Once a criterion has been marked as focused, each instance will display the focus icon for the entire evaluation year.
- Start under Manage Evaluation Year in the left navigation menu.
- You will see the "Manage Evaluation Year" page, which features several subpages (tabs) across the top. You will default to the Details Tab.
- The Evaluator automatically fills in the Evaluation Year Essentials section, which reflects the Position Level, Primary and Supplemental Evaluator, and the Prior Year Position Level. This will determine the tasks and their due dates.
- The Evaluation Year Configuration section determines whether the type is Comprehensive or Focus. When an Evaluatee is focused, the Focused Criterion field may be edited by clicking on the magnifying glass.
- Click the checkbox next to the Criterion you will be focused on and click Accept.
- For some Criterion, an additional Student Framework Criterion field will appear. Select this criterion option in the same manner.
- When finished, scroll to the bottom and click Save.
Displaying only the Focus Criterion
From any Observation/Evaluation Task
