Subgroup comparison functionality in Homeroom allows users to delve deeper into assessment data by breaking it down across various demographic or programmatic subgroups, such as race/ethnicity, gender, language, and specific programs. This feature is instrumental in identifying disparities or patterns in performance that may exist among different student groups.

Accessing Subgroup Comparisons (V2)

Method One: Within a Dashboard Container

  1. Start within a container on the dashboard, typically viewing a Performance Level Chart.
  2. Use the Screen View Actions and Options Gear in the upper right corner and select Assessment Widget: One Test corresponding to the assessment of interest. Note: Hovering over shortened names displays the entire name of the assessment.

  1. A detailed One Test Assessment Chart will be displayed.
  2. Again, use the Screen View Actions and Options Gear from the One Test view and choose the option to display the Subgroup Comparison chart.
  3. The Subgroup chart, initially showing data for race/ethnicity, will be presented.

Method Two: From the Launch Assessment Menu

  1. Start under Assessment Tests in the left navigation menu and choose Launch Assessment.

  1. Select the Assessment Subgroup Comparison tile.

  1. A  simple three-step process appears.  Select the desired student group and assessment for comparison, then click Launch View

  1. The Subgroup Comparison chart for race/ethnicity will appear.

Accessing Additional Comparisons

  1. Utilize the dropdown arrow to select a different subgroup category, then click the checkmark to the left of the chosen subgroup. FederalRaceCode, Gender, Language, and School appear automatically when selected; However, the Program requires an additional step.
  2. When a user selects Program, the chart's title changes. The user can then select the specific program of interest using the dropdown arrow and click Select a different Program. To do so, click the checkmark on the left for the desired program.
