Homeroom Dashboards - Student Growth By Assessment Test List Data Extract
The Student Growth by Assessment List extract creates an Excel document listing individual student scale score progress over a series of assessments. This extract allows teachers, specialists and others to monitor the progress of students on a series of assessments. This extract creates an easy way to identify students who are growing, stagnating or falling behind over the course of a year in order to target students for intervention.
For the chosen student group and assessments, the extract provides a list of students in the group and their scores on each assessment. In addition to scale scores, the extract also includes the scale score growth and percent change between each assessment, as well as the percent change from the first assessment to the last.
*NOTE: For the data delivered to be useful, it's important that users choose comparable assessments for which scale score growth is meaningful.
From the Create Data Extract Containers, select Create next to the Student Growth Extract by Assessment Test List.
When navigating here from Homeroom Dashboards, a new window will open in the Data Tables application.
If you receive the following message, you will need to contact your Homeroom Data Administrator for access.
From here you will need to complete all three sections of the data table. Below is a sample of comparing prior year MAP Math scores of current 6th grade students.
NOTE: It is important that the assessments selected are aligned, so the growth calculation is valid.
You also have the option to select information columns to include in the data table by selecting “Change Selections”:
Make the desired selections and then click OK.
Once complete select Generate Data Table in the upper right.
A data table will generate in real time. You have the option to take several actions, but the most common is Download XLSX.
The resulting Excel spreadsheet can then be used to analyze your students and their growth.
Both a numerical value as well as a percentage is presented in the spreadsheet.
