Classroom is an integrated solution to manage, administer, and report on student assignments and assessments. It is web-based and designed to work with tablets and iPads as well as traditional PCs and laptops. Content in Classroom can be aligned with common core state standards (CCSS), and educators can easily produce standards-based gradebooks. But Classroom also has the flexibility to act as a traditional gradebook, an online student assessment platform, an assessment results warehouse, and a tool to create and distribute curriculum.
With Classroom, educators can share gradebooks, assignments, and questions to ensure a common set of the curriculum at the course, grade, building, or district level, providing all students with a similar learning experience. Students can securely access those assignments and assessments online and submit answers and coursework automatically to their teachers. And because of this automation, Classroom frees teachers from scoring and leaves them more time for instruction.
Classroom is organized into four main areas:
- Browse
- Compose
- Work
- Analyze
Educators can Browse through standards, questions, and assignments to find exactly what they need. They can Compose new questions or assignments with friendly text editors, point-and-click options, and pre-populated banks. They can Work on existing gradebooks, assignments, and questions and score and grade students. Finally, they can Analyze what they and their students have accomplished at the gradebook, assignment, question, or standard level.
Classroom is also fully integrated with Homeroom. They share the same student profile information, student groups, and school and course information. Plus, any Classroom assignment can be marked as available for viewing in Homeroom to truly incorporate and analyze assessments given in the classroom with those required by the district or state.
Classroom was built for educators by educators, and the School Data Solutions model of continuous development is evident throughout the application. Your great enhancement ideas and suggestions will keep Classroom fresh and ever evolving. Stay tuned...
