A note on where this data originates...
The data for the Gradebook Viewer widget comes from Skyward's Gradebooks. The grade listed for a course when a user selects the Grades button is a suggested calculation based on all the assignments a student has taken to date and should not be considered a final grade.
The credit and progress grades listed below the course on the student's Schedule come from Skyward's posted grades in the student's course history. Teachers must post grades from their Skyward gradebook in order for grades to appear in the course history, and teachers are free to change grades after they have been posted. Moreover, counselors and anyone else with access to a student's grade history are free to change the course history grades at any point.
These "buckets", gradebook grades and course history grades, are two completely separate sets of data we receive from Skyward. Since they are separate buckets please do not expect them to have the same data. Educators should not compare the Gradebook Viewer grades to the grades listed on the Schedule widget.
If you are only interested in the final, posted grades for a student, defer to those listed in the Schedule widget. The Class Grades extract is also an excellent resource.
The Gradebook Viewer widget is on any Student Spotlight tab. It lists the student's assignments and suggested progress grades for each of their courses.
Each course is shown by default. You can toggle a course name in the left sidebar to hide or show a given course.
Assignments each have a date, assignment details, and a score.
Assignments are black if currently assigned with no score, orange if late, red if missing, and green if completed. Click "Assigned", "Late," "Missing," or "Completed" in the content area header to toggle them on or off. "Missing" uses the Skyward 'missing' flag from the Gradebook.
To view a suggested progress grade for a course, click "Grades." If a grade is available, it is displayed. To go back to viewing course assignments, click "Assignments."
Click the Calendar button to toggle between school years and select the desired school year's data. Use the widget's Print button
to print the Gradebook data for the selected school year. Use the widget's Refresh button
to return everything to the default settings.
