The 2013 back-to-school release of Homeroom has a number of improvements and enhancements, much of which happened "behind-the-scenes". Below are some highlights.
Major Enhancements
Assessment Performance Aggregation by Service
The District and School Views in the Assessments Widget can now show student performance aggregates by service enrollment. Disaggregation to show student details is optionally available. This must be configured on a per district basis, so please contact us if you would like access to it.
Free & Reduced Lunch and Homeless Data
Our security system now allows for data related to student enrollment in Free & Reduced Lunch programs, and data related to students being categorized as Homeless, to be exposed in Homeroom. This highly sensitive data can be made available on a per role basis, so again please contact us if you would like access to this.
Student Attendance Filters
Smart Student Groups have a new filter group available related to attendance allowing groups to be created based on students' number of absenses. This is under the filter group "Behaviors." You may create groups of students with "at least", "exactly," or "less than" a number of abscences over a period of time.
Assessment Ordering and Grouping
Assessments are often now ordered by a new chronological ordinal. This organization will help with analysis. There are also many new types of system generated assessment sets (for example instead of just "8th Grade" there is now "8th Grade Math"). This too will help with analysis.
New Data Extract Type
"Student Group List Assessment Percentages" displays how two groups of students did on a single assessment. This is the first extract to take in multiple student groups, and more are to come. This can be used for TPEP purposes for closing the gap and for other student group comparison purposes.
Another first for this extract is to be able to click a performance level region in the chart and see a list of students who achieved that level. Also, you may export the chart as a PDF file. Soon, we will be able to profile the students in this list, and add them to a group.
Attendance Widget
We are overhauling the Student Attendance Widget. Once we have one week of real data, we will release it. Coming soon to a Student Spotlight page near you.
Data Extract Integration
Data Extracts created and saved in Homeroom can now be saved as evidence in Evaluations.
