Homeroom delivers interfaces, functionality, and data corresponding to your role.
Roles
The available roles are:
- District Administrator
- School Administrator
- Teachers
- Specialist
While you may have more than one role in the district, you can only operate Homeroom using a single role at a time. You can open "settings" to switch between your available roles at any time.
Data Access Permissions
Access to student data is determined by your active role:
-
As a district administrator you have access to all current and historical data for all students.
-
As a school administrator you have access to all current and historical data for all students currently enrolled in the school where you work. You also have access to all students enrolled in your school in the past.
- As a specialists you have access to all current and historical data for all students currently enrolled in the school where you work.
-
As a teacher you have access to all current and historical data for all students enrolled in a class you are teaching this year. For historical students (students that you have taught in the past but are NOT currently teaching), you have access to: assessment data; class enrollments (with grades and attendance) for all classes up to and including the school year in which you taught the student; school enrollments (with attendance) for all schools up to and including the school year in which you taught the student; and district enrollments up to and including the school year in which you taught the student. **You do not have access to any current data on your historical students when they are not in a class which you are currently teaching.
- If you have more than one role you will be logged in as the role with the most granular permissions. This can be modified by each user in their settings once logged in. If you have any questions or need assistance please contact: support@schooldata.net.
There are a small number of exceptions to these general rules.
