Purpose:
This is for NON SKYWARD districts only.
To create an Application User account for a student.
What you'll need:
The student information to be used to create the include which includes:
- Student SSID
- Application User Name
- Password (optional)
- Email Address (optional but recommended)
Directions:
Log into the Admin at https://{YourDistrict}.schooldata.net/admin with your SchoolData.net username and password.
- navigate to the Four Year Planning Admin category >> FYP Permissions category >> Create Application User For Student (Task)
- For more information on navigating in the Admin read this article.
Web Form:
The web form is best used for one or two additions.
- enter the student name in the search field and hit enter. This will search for the student. Once the list of students is returned, find the one student needed and click on their name. This will highlight the student in blue.
- if the student is not highlighted in blue and an SSID is not entered this will not work
- enter the SSID
- only if you did not search for the student. It is highly recommended that you search for the student and do not add the SSID. Use one or the other, not both.
- enter the application user
- this will become the users application user name, used to log into SchoolData
- enter the password
- this is optional and SchoolData recommends it be left blank and the student set their own password when they first log in
- enter the email address
- this will become the email address for the application user account. It will be used to email the student from the application, things link reset password information and Four Year Plan reports
CSV Upload:
The .csv upload is best used for multiple changes or additions.
Directions:
- click the table actions button at the bottom of the window
- select 'download CSV template...' It will be named "TemplateForTable-CreateApplicationUserForStudents-[current date].csv".
- open the template in Excel. Leave the header row in tact.
- delete the first column (StudentId(Optional))
- for each Student, enter the following information row by row, starting with the second row (note some fields are optional):
- SSID (this is required)
- ApplicationUser (this is required)
- Password (this is optional and not recommended)
- Email Address (this is optional)
- save the template as a csv file again
- return to Homeroom Admin and select table actions, then upload.csv
- select the template you modified, and optionally give the file a label.
- click Upload
