To send guardians an informative email with an explanation of the reason the district has activated an account for them, with directions on setting their password. The current activation process for guardians allows a Data Admin to download a template with default information about guardians. The template information can then be uploaded to activate the accounts. The current default for the guardian user name is their email address.
note: once the account is created with the email address as the account name, changing the users email address in the SIS will not update the SchoolData account name, or the email address for the account. The updating of the email address for the account is currently an enhancement request.
