Purpose:
To allow end users to download a template to use for uploading student scores. This eases the work of the end user (teacher) by allowing for quick data entry of student scores. A template is generated for an assessment which has the student information (including IDs), all the end user needs to do is enter the student score (or goal). The template even has some error checking built in, such as color coding the score to the performance level the score is in, as well as not allowing the user to enter a score that is outside the allowable score ranges.
Directions:
Log into Homeroom at https://{District}.schooldata.net/ with your SchoolData.net username and password.
Download template:
navigate to the Assessment widget and click the upload button

- xlsx - if the device has excel
- csv - if the device does not have excel
- this will download a spreadsheet with a row for each student in the student group chosen
navigate to the place on your device where the downloads are stored and open the template
Add student scores:
add an Assessment Test Administration Name and Student Assessment Test Date for reference
- users do not need to include administration or date for adding goals
add Student Assessment Test Score
- see the performance levels the students achieved as scores are entered and the cell turns the same color as the performance level colors defined in the assessment
if an invalid score is entered, an error message is received that includes information on the required values.
when all student scores have been entered save the file
Upload Student Scores:
navigate back to the Assessment widget in Homeroom
select the Upload Scores button
A dialogue box prompts the user to browse for the file containing the scores
select the Choose File button and navigates to the spreadsheet
clicks Upload
A success message will be displayed
Within a few minutes an email should be received from Homeroom with the results of the upload. It will tell the user how many student records were added and if there were any errors. (Please Note: SchoolData.net suggests you retain these email messages.)
If a user happens to accidentally load the student scores twice, the second load will override the first, that is, the second set of scores will effectively delete the first set.
