Purpose:
The purpose of KPIs is to create an easy-to-understand visual representation of data that demonstrates how effectively a district is achieving key performance objectives and to share the data with stakeholders. The goal is to "create conversations about the data."
To facilitate the conversation, these indicators can be downloaded as a pdf or the look of the web interface can be adjusted per the user preference.
Directions:
Log into SchoolData.net at {YourDistirct}.schooldata.net/V2/kpi with your SchoolData.net username and password.
- click Browse KPI on the left nav.
- click the Browse Category button under the KPI Category
- this will show a tile for each indicator
- click the Build KPI button under an indicator
- this will render a view of the indicator which can include
- the title of the indicator
- the description of the indicator
- the chart(s) representing the data about the indicator
- main findings the chart shows about the indicator
- key observation made about the indicator
- metrics used to create the chart
- an Action button to allow the user to download a pdf or change the display options
Actions:
The actions include:
- Download PDF
- Display Options
- Show Description
- Show Main Findings, Key Observations, & Metric
Download PDF
- click the Download PDF button
Your KPI pdf download will begin soon
If the computer is set up to automatically open pdfs, the pdf will open. If the computer does not automatically open pdfs the user will need to find the file where it was downloaded and open it.
The user will also see a notification that the File is Ready to Download. This notification can be closed by clicking the X.
Display Options
Display options effect the look of the web page only, they do not effect the pdf. The display options include:
- Show Description
- click Show description to turn off the description in the interface.
- the description can also be turned off by clicking the x next to Description
- Show Main Findings, Key observations, & Metric
- click Show Main Findings, Key observations, & Metric to turn off these features in the interface
