Purpose:
To view, add, edit and delete Learning Standard Comment Selections for the Classroom Report Card. These are the default comment choices that can be selected in the Report Card when giving students their grades per learning standard.
Directions:
Log into the Admin at {YourDistirct}.schooldata.net/admin/ with your SchoolData.net username and password.
- navigate to the Classroom Admin category >> Report Card >> Learning Standard Comment Selections (Element Table)

- Id

Learning Standard Comment Selection
- Learning Standard Framework (and Id)
- Learning Standard Category (and Id)
- Learning Standard Subject (and Id)
- Learning Standard (and Id)
- add or Edit the information in a web form or via a .csv upload file

Web Form:
The web form is best used for small changes, or one or two additions.
- enter the Class Term Grade Comment Selections
- this is what is displayed in the interface as a selection for the teachers to use in the Classroom Report Card
CSV Upload:
The .csv upload is best used for multiple changes or additions.
What you'll need:
Depending on the comment association, you will need one of the following for each comment:
- Learning Standard Framework Id
- this can be found in the Admin - Classroom Admin >> Learning Standards >> Learning Standard Frameworks
- Learning Standard Category Id
- this can be found in the Admin - Classroom Admin >> Learning Standards >> Learning Standard Categories
- Learning Standard Subject Id
- this can be found in the Admin - Classroom Admin >> Learning Standards >> Learning Standard Subjects
- Learning Standard Id
- this can be found in the Admin - Classroom Admin >> Learning Standards >> Learning Standards
Directions:
- click the table actions button at the bottom of the window
- select 'download CSV template...' It will be named "TemplateForTable-LearningStandardCommentSelections-[current date].csv".
- open the template in Excel. Leave the header row in tact.
- for eachC lass Learning Standard Comment Selection, enter the following information row by row, starting with the second row (note some fields are optional):
- Class Term Grade Comment Selections
- Learning Standard Framework Id - **if the comment should be made available for all Learning Standards in the Learning Standard Framework, this would be the most broadly applied comment
- e.g. the comment 'Your child is exceeding grade level expectations.' could be associated to every learning standard in the district learning standard framework
- Learning Standard Category Id - **if the comment should be made available for all Learning Standards in the Learning Standard Category
- e.g. the comment 'Your child has mastered the ideas of counting and cardinality, which include the categories of 'Know number names and the count sequence., Count to tell the number of objects., and Compare numbers. For more detailed information, please consult the district website (www.district website/Learning Standards).' could be associated to the Learning Standard Category of 'Counting and Cardinality'.
- Learning Standard Subject Id - **if the comment should be made available for all Learning Standards in the Learning Standard Subject
- e.g. the comment 'Your child has made some growth in math this trimester.' could be associated to the Learning Standard Subject of 'Math'
- Learning Standard Id - **if the comment should be made available for the single Learning Standard, this would be the most granular application of Learning Standard Comment Selections
- e.g. the comment 'Your child has made great strides in asking and answering questions about unknown words in while reading' could be associated to the CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.K.4 Learning Standard which is 'Ask and answer questions about unknown words in a text.'
- save the template as a csv file again
- return to Homeroom Admin and select table actions, then upload.csv
- select the template you modified, and optionally give the file a label.
- click Upload
