FRS Indicators

Purpose:

Allows user to add / edit / view Indicators.  These display in the Student Self-Reflection, Submit Evidence, and Set Goals user interfaces as well as many others.  These are the indicators of Future Ready Skills the application is built around.

Directions:

Log into the Admin at {YourDistirct}.schooldata.net/admin/ with your SchoolData.net username and password.

• navigate to the Future Ready Skill Admin category >> FRS Indicators (Element Table)

• some of the information contained in the table includes:
  • Id 
  • Text
  • Ordinal By Skill
  • Future Ready Skill (and Id)
  • Text For Others
  • Grade Level (and Id)
• add or edit the information in a web form or via a .csv upload file

Web Form:

The web form is best used for small changes, or one or two additions.

• enter the future ready skill indicator text
  • this is the name of the indicator
• enter the future ready skill indicator ordinal by skill
  • this is a number used to put the indicator in order by skill
• choose the Future Ready Skill from the drop down
  • this is the Future Ready Skill the indicator is associated to
• enter the future ready skill indicator text for others
  • this is the text displayed to other users that are recording evidence towards the indicators
• enter the grade level the future ready skill indicator is associated to
  • this is the grade level the indicator is associated to
  • leave this blank if all indicators are the same for all grade levels using the application
  • if there is one indicator for grades 6-8 and a different indicator for grades 9-12, a record will need to be added for each grade levels, meaning grade 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.  If educators will be demonstrating the application a record will need to be added for them with no grade level associated.

CSV Upload:

The .csv upload is best used for multiple changes or additions.

Directions:

1. click the table actions button at the bottom of the window
2. select 'download CSV template...' It will be named "TemplateForTable-FutureReadySkillIndicators-[current date].csv".
3. open the template in Excel. Leave the header row in tact.
4. for each skill indicator, enter the following information row by row, starting with the second row (note some fields are optional):
   • Future Ready Skill Indicator Text (says it's options, but it isn't)
   • Future Ready Skill Indicator Ordinal By Skill (optional)
   • Future Ready Skill Id (Required)
     • change the column header to read 'Future Ready Skill' and copy the name of the Future Ready Skill into this column
   • Future Ready Sill Indicator Text For Others (Optional)
   • GradeLevelId (Optional)
5. save the template as a csv file again
6. return to Homeroom Admin and select table actions, then upload.csv
7. select the template you modified, and optionally give the file a label.
8. click Upload
