Community Service Hours:
School districts are required to adopt a policy that is supportive of community service and provides an incentive, such as recognition or credit, for students who participate in community service (RCW 28A.320.193). As this is a high school graduation requirement for some districts, it is of key interest that total community service hours-to-date are displayed prominently in Homeroom for both educators and parents.

The College Bound Scholarship is a state funded program administered by the Washington Student Achievement Council. Students must register in middle school and apply for college their Senior Year. Having this attribute in Homeroom allows the School College Bound Scholarship administrator easily see who has applied for the scholarship as well as for college and if that college application was approved.
