Purpose:
To view, add, edit and delete Four Year Plan (FYP) Courses in the FYP application.
Directions:
Log into the Admin at https://{YourDistirct}.schooldata.net/admin with your SchoolData.net username and password.
- navigate to the Four Year Planning Admin category >> FYP Courses (Element Table)
- For more information on navigating in the Admin read this article.
- some of the information contained in the table includes:
- Id
- Course Code
- Course Description
- Course Subject Area (and Id)
- Course Narrative
- Corresponding Course Code (and Id)
- Is All Year
- Prerequisite Description
- Minimum Homework Hours per Week
- Maximum Homework Hours per Week
- Credit Type
- Recommended Grade Level (and Id)
- Is Active
- add or Edit the information in a web form or via a .csv upload file

Web Form:
The web form is best used for small changes, or one or two additions.
- enter the course code
- this is what is displayed in the interface and can be searched on
- enter the course description
- this is the name of the course
- enter the course narrative
- this is displayed in the interface to help the user make the most informed decision on the courses they want to take
- ignore the corresponding course code
- this feature is not used at this time
- choose the correct selection from the Is All Year choices
- this will allow the application to determine if one or two slots should be filled with the course. Select True if the course is a full year course, and if the course is put into a slot that has an open joining slot, the application will fill both slots. Choose False if the course is a semester or trimester course. The N/A is not applicable in this instance.
- add prerequisite description text
- if the course has prerequisites, add those here. The application will display them to the user, which will allow the user to determine the suitability of the course based on their knowledge of previous courses taken or planned.
- add the Minimum Homework Hours per Week
- add the Maximum Homework Hours per Week
- these numbers will be displayed to the user to help them determine the range of Homework hours they are planning to endure per week, by adding all the hours per course together.
- add the credit type of the course
- if the course is associated to more than one credit type, e.g. Math and CTE, add them as a comma delimited list (Math, CTE). This information will be displayed to the user.
- ignore the recommended grade level
- this feature is not used. To associate the course to a recommended grade level use the admin function Assign FYP Courses to Recommended Grade Levels.
- choose the correct selection from the Is Active choices
- this will allow the application to determine if the course should be displayed to the student in the All Courses or My Courses tab. Choose False if the course should not be an option to associate to a plan e.g. the course is no longer offered at the district. Choose True if the course should be seen in the Courses lists. The N/A is not applicable in this instance.
CSV Upload:
The .csv upload is best used for multiple changes or additions.
What you'll need:
- Course Subject Area Id
- this can be found in the Admin - Four Year Planning Admin >> Course Subject Area View
Directions:
- click the table actions button at the bottom of the window
- select 'download CSV template...' It will be named "TemplateForTable-InterventionPlanAccommodations-[current date].csv".
- open the template in Excel. Leave the header row in tact.
- for each FYP Course, enter the following information row by row, starting with the second row (note some fields are optional):
- Course Code
- Course Description
- Course Subject Area Id
- Course Narrative (optional but recommended)
- Corresponding Course Code Id (not used at this time)
- Four Year Plan Course Is All Year( optional but recommended)
- Prerequisite Description (optional but recommended)
- Minimum Homework Hours per Week (optional but recommended)
- Maximum Homework Hours per Week (optional but recommended)
- Credit Type (optional but recommended)
- Recommended Grade Level Id (not used at this time)
- Four Year Plan Course Code Is Active (optional but recommended)
- save the template as a csv file again
- return to Homeroom Admin and select table actions, then upload.csv
- select the template you modified, and optionally give the file a label.
- click Upload
